On Tuesday, 8th September the Year 5s had an incursion with Rodney from CISCO. CISCO uses technology to revolutionise people’s perspectives on issues such as sustainability.
In response to this inspiring incursion, 5NR came up with a few ideas of their own…enjoy!

Hello World,
I enjoyed making the video clips using Adobe Voice to talk about what we would fix about the school. LK and I had a fun time recording our voices, finding pictures and coming up with the idea of having a panel showing you what kind of foods were for sale at the canteen. I also enjoyed listening to Rodney talk about his job at CISCO.
I hope we get to see Rodney again!

I really enjoyed your post about Cisco and our classroom activities that we did on that topic. I agree with your blog comment and I want to say that reading your comment made me think about how we can make, less work for people who can’t do all the hard work forever. My favourite part of the incursion was the part were we saw that Rodneys’ work was to put the huge screen in the MCG. Thank you for reading my post.

I also enjoyed listening to what Rodney had to say and also make the Adobe Voice recordings! Although this was a while ago, I still remember Rodney talking to us about how we should think of some ideas that CISCO team could possibly fix in our school yard. He said he would come back to listen to all our ideas… and he did! Yesterday he came back to visit the Year 5’s and 6’s and wrote down all of our wonderful ideas! We came up with ideas such as preventing graffiti on our school due to the fact that our school has just recently found some graffiti on the stadium. I really like the idea of preventing such problems which is why I applied to be a part of the CISCO problem solving team.

I want to share with you about cisco and I hope you like it.Rodney work at cisco and he explain what he does for his job: to make a machines in the factory and the village cinema. He said he has to work out. How he is going to make the machine for the cinema and factory. We ask a lot of question and everyone enjoy meeting Rodney .You can watch our adobe voice

Dear 5NR,
Although I missed out on the second incursion, I do know that the first was very informative on how CISCO helps around, and why they need to in the first place. Listening to CISCO’s Rodney talk inspired me to help others and my surroundings. As forms were handed out, I realised I may be bale to come up with ideas to do just that much. We have not started as far as I know, but CISCO seems like a company worth working for.
What did you think of the visit? Did you try out for the school’s CISCO program?

I had heaps of fun making adobe voice videos on how to make the school grounds more safe and exciting for all to enjoy.
I believe everyones solutions would be a great idea as it would make it a whole lot easier to look after our school grounds. We had two incursions with CISCO which were both magnificent. Rodney explained to us that they were working on an invention that has a little device on the lid of the bins that tells us which bins are full and which ones we need to change.
I would like to thank Rodney for coming in and explaining all about his job and what could be changed in our school ground.
