July 23rd

Hello 5NR,

After a tiring 20 hour plane ride we finally made it to Greece.
Here are some of the highlights of our trip so far.
We have been to Nafplio a lot of times and I really like the food, once I had two souvlaki and a waffle it was delicious but sadly I vomited after…….it was still nice though.
We went to a really nice beach called Astros. It was really deep but I liked it. We also went to a place called Peri Hora, the beach that we swam in is like a lake and the water was very blue.
I joined the local basketball team, we’re called Maistrali but in English it means ‘The Squids’.
We’re pretty good we have lost four and won four, we play games everyday on an outdoor court so it does get pretty hot.
We also went to my Grandfather’s village called Arahorva, near Sparta so when I went there I felt pretty strong.

It’s 12:20 at night so I better get off, I’ll make sure that I can post tomorrow and if you can, can you please send me questions so I can answer them. Thanks.

August 3rd

Yiasou 5NR,

My holiday is nearly finished and I’ve had a great time.
We try to stick on schedule which is one day go sight seeing and the next day relax, and it’s worked. We’ve been to so many place like Olympus were the first Olympic games were held, I ran the run down track and we also went into a museum with  ancient artefacts.
We went on a boat cruise to the islands Hydra and Spetsis. We bought lots of souvenirs there and we also rode horses along the backstreets of Hydra…. well I didn’t but my family did I was holding the rope leading them. We also went to Tolo, a place near Nafplio. The beach in Tolo looked the beach in Brazil, there was also this huge slide in the water called the iceberg I went down it about 30 times it was so fun.
My team is called the The Squids because in Greek it means Maistrali and in the village im staying in there’s a restaurant called Maistraili. The highest I’ve scored in a game there is 20 points.  Right now im staying in the Hilton in Athens, It’s a really fancy place and last night went to the Galaxy bar  it has a view of the Acropolis.

Thank you for sending me comments I’ve read them all.
See you when I get back BYE.

  1. Dear GT,
We read your comment about your holiday at Greece.
We hope your having a good time in the warm weather! The oceans sound really nice and we would think that it would be calming to swim in them. It must be really nice to be able to play sport while you’re away! We understand that you would feel strong near Sparta, because that is what they were after all! We’ve never been to Greece, but after learning about your experience it seems awesome. Plus, how do you play in all that heat. Some of us get tired in 20 degrees and you’re in 36! We looked up photos of Peri Hora and Astros and they look so AWESOME! We found out in class that you got into House sports basketball with PJ (just to let you know). Now you will be playing even more basketball!
What else have you been doing?
    Hope you have fun,
    KH and SH 🙂

  2. Hi GT,
We have just read your post and we know you are having a good time. We would like to know when you are coming back! We wonder if you could send a picture of where you are going to visit next?
We wonder why your basketball team is called The Squids. We looked at some photos of Nafplio. It looks like a really beautiful place.
We hope you are having a great time in Greece.

  3. Dear GT,
We hope you are having an amazing time in Greece.
It has been freezing down here in Melbourne, how’s the weather there? We hope you are having fun playing basketball, have you scored any points? Why is your team called the Squids, is it because you are wiggly around the court? The beaches look awesome, we searched some up on Google images. The water looks clear like you said. You must be having a good time!
    Can’t wait to see you!

  4. Dear GT
We’re having a great time at school and we hope you’re having a great time in Greece.
I hope your squid basketball team is doing well, are you the best in the team? Have you ankle broken anyone? We hope you won’t vomit after anymore meals. For house sports you’re missing out on basketball. Can’t wait to see you.

  5. Dear GT,
We liked reading your post and Nafplio looks so beautiful. We found out that you have a basketball team and everything else that you posted on your comment.
Why didn’t you post more comments?
    How has your holiday been?
Why did you not post any photos on the 5NR blog?

  6. Hi GT,
So far, you sound as though you are enjoying yourself immensely on your holiday in Greece.
Astros looks like a really pretty beach – the water looks blue and clear, the sand white and the houses framing the beach are really nice too.
Arahorva seems to be a very nice village, and there seems to be some snow-capped mountains there too… are there?
Sparta looks deeply historic and old and ruined, sort of like the bear scene in the movie ‘Brave.’
Here are some questions for you:
Why is your basketball team called the Squids?
What is the temperature in Greece right now?
Hope you’re having a good time,
    TH

  7. Dear GT,
It’s been two weeks already. I hope you’re having fun.
It’s eight o’clock in Greek time right now, I think you’re still in your cosy bed. I wonder when you are coming back? Why is the flight for 20 hours? There’s a new student in our class from China.
You’re sitting next to me when you come back…”mwah ha ha”. Never mind the evil laugh.
Don’t be too comfortable, you’re going to have a hard time.

  8. Hi GT,
Was being on the plane really hard for you? What has been your favourite part of the trip so far?
Was Nafplio nice? Have you been looking for seashells? Anyway, enjoy the rest of your holiday in Greece.
    Bye! AK ET

  9. Hi GT,
What did you watch on the plane? what do you like about your trip so far? Was there a bit you didn’t like about your trip?
    Bye! GS

  10. Hi GT!
Greece is a flawless place to be, especially the astounding cultures and landmarks. Too bad you barfed after a mouth-watering meal(mmm…souvlaki) but at least you’re still having lots of unmissable fun! After my thoughts envying your exceptional trip, I started to wonder…
    1. What else did you eat?
2.What is the weather like in Greece?
3.How do you feel about living in such a nice place?
Nafplio seems like such a reposeful town, it’s even next to the sea!
You must be enjoying your time at Greece, have the funnest of the fun you can get!
